We have been to 20 plus tropical climates and resorts and Grand Velas is rated number 1 in our book!! Absolutely amazing service by all staff members! We started with a head and facial massage the minute we arrived at the resort and it just kept getting better and better each day. The restaurant food was delicious and presentation was amazing! The pool waiters are very attentive and their service is first class! At the buffet, you will never carry your plate to your table..again, amazing service! Our room was beautiful, clean and oh so comfortable with an astounding view! The maids freshened our room twice daily with turn down service and the mini bar was always restocked with the items we requested! The spa services provided by SILVIA were so awesome I had to go twice! Everyone was there to serve YOU! ABOVE AND BEYOND: We had a young man with our group whom became ill and before checking in to resort ended up in the hospital. The resort had a staff member check on him twice daily, did his laundry and brought food to him..all at no charge because he was a guest of the resort! Also, one morning I did not answer my wake up call and a few minutes later a breathless young man knocked at my door to make sure I was awake! You will not receive that kind of service anywhere else. We highly recommend Grand Velas and we will be returning one day soon! 5 stars!!!

I don't know how Velas Vallarta does it but ALL their staff is SO friendly and will do anything to make your experience amazing. Example: I asked if they had hot chocolate at the outdoor restaurant and the server said no but said he will see what he can do. 10 minutes later he came back with hot chocolate for me (he made it from chocolate syrup with milk and he frothed the milk using the cappuccino machine--BRILLIANT!)! The pools are always clean and beautiful. There is more food than you know what to do with. And the strawberry coladas...are to die for (I switched rum for vodka and loved it even more). I'm just saying, it doesn't get much better for an all-inclusive resort.

We spent a delightful week here in March 2016 with my kids and grandkids (aged 2-6) - 10 in all. We spent most of the day either in the pools or eating. The food was only surpassed by the excellent service. Watching the sun set into the Pacific from the Ribera restaurant was a highlight.
