Vallarteando Now Offered at Velas Vallarta - Puerto Vallarta Events

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico (March 09, 2022) - Continuing its commitment to Mexican traditions, Velas Vallarta in Puerto Vallarta is launching a new experience that combines Mexican arts and crafts with authentic food and drink tastings. In a street fair setup oceanfront, the Vallarteando event for couples and families alike allows guests to explore the typical food and drinks of the region as well as learn to make different crafts from a Mexican Artisan.

Typical Mexican street food delicacies served range from Zarandeado fish and Embarazado shrimp, that have local origins and are cooked over open coals, to tacos made with Birria, a Mexican ancestral stew made from a combination of chili pepper-based goat meat, adobo, garlic, cumin, bay leaves, and thyme, and cooked at a low heat.

Cocktails made with Tequila, Raicilla, and Mezcal and non-alcoholic options like Mexican Hot Chocolate and agua frescas (fresh fruit blended with water) complement the menu. In addition to the tastings, guests with a creative streak will be led by the resort's artisans in painting ancestral calavera as well as beading bracelets. Calavera, meaning skull in Spanish or sometimes referred to as a "sugar skull", has become one of the most recognizable cultural and artistic elements of the Day of the Dead and in Mexican culture overall. All of this while the Mariachi, born in Jalisco (the state of Puerto Vallarta), takes to the stage. Offered monthly, Vallarteando is part of the resort's rotating schedule of complimentary dining offerings and entertainment activities for guests.
